At the beginning of this month, Andreeva defended the world no. 1 Sabalenka 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 at BNP Paribas Open Final to capture its second consecutive WTA 1000 championship in Indian Wells.
A round after Andreeva destroyed the defense champion and no. 2 of the world IgA swiatek 7-6 (1), 1-6, 6-3 accusing in her final of Indian girls Wells, Andreeva deconstructed Sabalenka with an unpleasant variation.
Write In his column for Betway, Roddick Said Andreeva’s quiet movement and the smart court’s sense have always been wealth and her Indian wells showed that she has service, strength and endurance, even at the age of 17, to overcome the best.
Roddick said Andreeva will be the world no. 1.
“What impresses me most about Mirra Andreeva is her ability to stand up physically against the best players in the world. I thought physicalness would take some time,” Roddick told Betway. “It’s not easy when you are trying to beat people just as physically predominant as Sabalenka and Sviatek and you are 17 years old.
“I’ve never questioned her tennis. But she is now serving as she’s raised wonderfully well in the last four or five months.
“She is able to open her shoulders on the first cross. Her movement is already elite and there is not a lot of holes in her game. I don’t know that someone ever questioned her tennis, who is crazy about someone who is 17.”
Last June, Andreeva dropped Sabalenka along the way to her large semifinal in Roland Garros.
Andreeva is the third youngest woman to win Indian Wells after her tennis hero, Martina Hingis (1998) and legendary Serena Williams (1999). Moreover, Andreeva joins Steffi Graf and Serena as the third player under the age of 18 to overthrow the world no. 1 and no. 2 in the same event.

Andreeva of the sixth rank is run toward the top, Roddick told Betway.
“I said at our show a month ago that I thought it looks like a future world No. 1 for sure,” Roddick said. “I don’t like jumping out of profit in Dubai in the comparisons of Steffi Graf – it looks like we’re spending a few years – but simply based on the way she is playing, she will be tight in conversation to be one of the best couples this year.
“She looks like it is fluent on all surfaces, she had a great run in Roland Garros last year and it looks like she is good at matching against the best players in the world. Everything shows that she is a contender sooner than later.”
