Mikel Arteta’s Latest Target Could Transform Arsenal’s Attack

Arsenal FC has reportedly initiated discussions with West Ham United regarding a potential transfer for Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus, according to a report by GiveMeSport. The 24-year-old attacker, who joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023, is keen to play European football next season, making a move to the North London club an enticing prospect.

Kudus, hailed as a “world-class” talent, has a release clause of £80 million in his contract, but Arsenal is unlikely to meet that valuation. Instead, the Gunners are reportedly considering a bid in the range of £46m-£51m (€55m-€60m). The versatile forward has impressed with his ability to operate across multiple attacking roles, contributing 5 goals and 3 assists in the Premier League last season.

Arsenal’s interest in Kudus comes amid their search for reinforcements in attack, following an injury-plagued season that saw key wingers like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard sidelined for extended periods. While Kudus is one of several wide attackers being considered, Arsenal is also reportedly pursuing Benjamin Sesko as their primary striker target.

However, Arsenal is not the only club eyeing Kudus. Chelsea and Newcastle United have also expressed interest in the Ghanaian international, adding further intrigue to his potential summer transfer. If Kudus pushes for a move, West Ham may be forced to accept a fee below his release clause, making Arsenal’s pursuit even more viable.

With the summer transfer window heating up, Kudus’ future remains uncertain, but Arsenal’s interest signals their intent to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. Whether the Gunners can strike a deal with West Ham remains to be seen, but Kudus could be a valuable addition to Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.
