Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova won their second WTA Finals title, and first since 2022, on Saturday in Riyadh, defeating Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani 7-6(4), 6-1 to lift the trophy.

After a hiatus of more than two years, the 2022 WTA Finals champions reunited in April this year and went on to win the Wimbledon title this summer.
Babos, who won three consecutive WTA Finals titles with Kristina Mladenovic, returned to the final for the first time since, along with Stefani, the first Brazilian to play a final at the WTA Finals.
They weathered a series of breaks in the opening set and took the tiebreaker, 7-4, before taking a 3-0 lead in the second set to win the doubles 5-1.
They served out the title in the next game, completing the win in one hour and 39 minutes.
