The rain appeared at the Muirfield Village Golf Club on Friday, but the lowest results were not.

Through two rounds, the memorial tournament has been one of the most difficult events in PGA Tour so far this season. At the seventh event of the year’s signature, only 13 players in the limited field with 72 men fired under Thursday. Only 11 players are in red figures going on weekends.

Speaking about the weekend, 57 players will progress after the cut, thanks to Matti Schmid, Germany. Schmid lost a bird’s stroke only within four legs in the 17th hole to keep the line at 5 for tournaments. Unfortunately for him, Schmid continued to Bogey his last hole to lose by making the weekend with a blow.

Fresh His second career PGA Tour’s career Last week at Charles Schwab Challenge, Ben Griffin continues to lead the road this week in Dublin, Ohio. Griffin fired an extraordinary round of 65 to set the pace on Thursday and followed it with a round on Friday. Also at the top of the leadership chart at seven under the winners of the tournament five times Nick taylorwho is the only player in the field to register both rounds this week in the 1960s.

Two shots back to five under par is Akshay Bhatia. Following the purpose of two straight rounds of 70, sample protectors and favorite (+280) Scottie Scheffler, is in four under. Shane Lowry, Sam Burns and Jordan Spieth are all connected to three under the money. Russell Henley, Xander Schauffle, Tom Hoge and Collin Morikawa round Top-10 to two below.

As the humidity slightly softened the golf course, it certainly did not make it easier. The forecast is not calling for any more rain over the weekend, but winds are expected to get on Saturday, in the 10-20 MPH range.

SUPPORTING

Akshay Bhatia (11-1)

Bhatia is one of the best placers in the world, but so far it has been very average through the first two rounds, ranking 36th in this field that goes on the weekend. Everything else has been great. He is no. 1 In the accuracy of the direction, the second in the SG: access, the third to the scrambling, and the second ranks in the SG: Tee to Green. I have to believe that his deployment will improve and he will have a great chance to make this his third victory in the tournament.

Shane Lowry (18-1)

Like Bhatia, Lowry’s ball hit has been high. Through 36 action holes, Lowry ranks fifth in this field for SG: Access and is no. 1 for the greens in the regulation. He is the third for SG: Tee to Green but ranks 46th for SG: Setting. If the Irish can simply bring the voter to the waves, he can make this his second major victory in the state of Ohio.

Jordan Spieth Top 5 Finish (+170)

We wrote about spieth at the beginning of this week As one of our pre -tour elections to win. He can still do this, but I like the actual price in Lowry to win it completely more than I am in spieth. Let us give ourselves a small room and play it to finish the top-5 in the country. The work of spieth outside has been extraordinary, ranking second in this field for SG: off the tee. He is the seventh in the greens in the regulation, and the 12th for SG: access. He is 33, however, in SG: setting and 35th in scrambling. As I said earlier this week, if the short game appears for spieth, it will be a serious contender.

paleness

Nick Taylor (+600)

Taylor has been extremely strong for the first two days of this tournament, but I worry about holding. He is currently the second in this field for SG: setting but barely hits the Top-100 in the same category. Griffin is riding in a very hot place, as his iron game has not been as good as Taylor, but with Griffin, I wonder if this guy is just in a heater now and trying to get in front of him can be a bad idea. In five memorial visits, Taylor has never ended above 27 and ever shot two rounds in the 1960s BC.
