Tien turns tennis court into a torture room for Russian.
But tonight Medvedev returned the trouble to triumph with one of his most ardent victories of the year.
Hobbled from the cramping at the end of the second group, Medvedev overcame the pain and initial base by posting a 7-6 (6), 6-7, 6-4 victory to fight in his 24th ATP quarterfinals in Rolex Shanghai masters.
