Mumbai’s Prithvi Shaw has slammed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for its allegations against batsmen. All this after the young batsman was dropped from the squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25.
The Mumbai Cricket Association recently named the Mumbai squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Young batsman Prithvi Shaw was absent from the squad and the omission did not go down well with him as he lashed out at the association for his swagger in the 50-over tournament.

Shaw posted the A-List record on social media and questioned the team about the fade. He mentioned what else he needed to see and said that he would return no matter what happened to him.
Following Shaw’s post, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) deleted the mortician’s emotional post. An MCA official told PTI that the player has been dropped from the squad due to known disciplinary as well as fitness issues during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024.
Shaw regularly missed practice sessions after showing up at the team hotel “at six in the morning” and staying out most of the night, the official noted. Also, some senior members of the team complained about being beaten about his attitude.

Lately, Shaw has come under a lot of scrutiny for his performances both off and on the field. It has been a terrible outing for him in the domestic circuit this year and the selectors were right to drop him for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 based on form.
Prithvi Shaw has been frustrated with the bat in the domestic season for Mumbai, failing to score in the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
He was dropped from the team midway through the Ranji Trophy after 4 games in which he scored 59 runs. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024–25, he scored 197 runs at an average of 21.88 with the best of 49 runs coming against Vidarbha in the quarter-final.
The show was also not sold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The fighter witnessed a huge drop in the game. He was one of the few batsmen to score a century on his Test debut, but things didn’t go well for him after that.
He last played in India in 2021 and is now nowhere to be found on the scene. The road back will be very difficult for him and it remains to be seen if he can come back.
