Matt Oxley says a MotoGP youngster looks more promising than Jorge Lorenzo.

Matt Oxley, one of MotoGP’s best young prospects, has even seen one of the all-time greats not make it at this age.

Lorenzo went on to win five world championships in his career, but his start in MotoGP was not as good as he had hoped.

The Spanish rider joined Yamaha in 2008 as a rookie with a big task – to serve as teammate to Valentino Rossi, who was considered the best rider in the world at the time.

Matt Oxley named the MotoGP rider doing something that even Jorge Lorenzo couldn’t manage as a rookie.

Speaking on Oxley good podcast, Matt Oxley had high praise for Diogo Moreira for his performance in Hungary at the weekend.

He also praised Morera’s performance as a starter this season, noting that Jorge Lorenzo hasn’t had the reckless breakdowns he did as a starter and has been perfect so far.

“Big props to Diogo Moreira yesterday. He was fantastic, in the race today, he was fantastic, he stuck behind Miller for a while, didn’t he?

“Otherwise, he’s been with Ogura and Marini, I think. But wow, he’s got a lot of talent… He doesn’t look like a starter at all this year.”

“Are we in seven or eight races? If you’ve got a good start and you’re building and building, that’s very unusual.”

“He reminds me of Jorge Lorenzo, who was like that when he came to MotoGP in 2008.

But Moreira did everything right. I didn’t expect him to be good, I believe.
