Matt Every hasn’t played a competitive round on the PGA Tour since the 2023 Barbasol Championship, where he lost with rounds of 77-76, but the 42-year-old two-time winner is still a golf pro – albeit in a different way.
On Monday nights, Every hosts “The Drop” on Golf Channel in addition to working as an analyst on PGA Tour Live. Each has a long-standing reputation as an avid gamer, and even reveals it he was often fined by the Tour about his outbursts during his career, so the irony of now working for the organization is not lost on him.

“It’s weird, isn’t it?” Everyone said about him hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz in this week’s episode of subparagraph. “You know, it’s pretty funny. I see some of the guys that were, you know, disciplining me out there, like (PGA Tournament Administration SVP) Andy Levinson and others, and we just smile at each other.
“But you know what, I’m totally fine with the way it all turned out. I’m really enjoying being there, and I’m also interested in the future.”
“What’s the point?” Knost asked.
“Yeah, just turn it into a second career,” Every replied. “I mean, the goal is to maybe be there with you one day, but just turn it into a second career. I love what I’m doing and I’m happy.”
Each also has two school-aged children and says he is enjoying being deeply involved in their lives.

“The career stuff is important, but right now, a lot of my time is (spent as) also being a dad,” Every said. “Whether it comes down to picking one of the kids up from school, getting them to practice, you know, I don’t know. I feel really good about where I’m at.”
