Matchroom today revealed that Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan will struggle in their re -broadcast for the narrow vacant IBF Welterweight title. The date and place of the fight has yet to be announced.
Crocker vs. Donovan II: IBF Crown
The two fighters will fight for the recently evacuated IBF title held by Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.
Donovan was disqualified in the eighth round after dropping Crocker with a punch after the bell in March in Belfast, Ireland. It was a peach of a right hand from Donovan, 26, who was “the Croc” croker to the bell in eighth place.
If Crocker got up immediately, the battle would have continued, but he remained. Who knows if he could get up again? The way he was beaten in the eighth by Donovan cannot blame you for not wanting to fight back on his feet.
Boxing fans respond: Matchroom Rematch
Fans are less than enthusiastic. Donovan (14-1, 11 costs) and Crocker (21-0, 11 COs) are both considered British domestic level in talent, and not real world-class fighters.
Some people see that they are both arranged at their current positions without facing considerable opposition. They see this battle and their subsequent IBF rankings no. 1 and #3 as an example of calculated movements by their promoters.
The opposition they beat is just as flawed as they come. Based on both their victories in the past, they are more below 50-level fighters in terms of rankings rather than #1 and #3. They beat a bunch of scabs to build their records.
Elite Welterweights: Beyond Crocker, Donovan
The actual talent among the contenders at 147 is these fighters:
- Shakhram Giyasov
- Raul Curiel
- Karen Chukhadzhian
- Eimantas stanionis
