Jude Bellingham has found a football home at Real Madrid, but ahead of a clash with Liverpool, he hinted at talks with the Reds last summer.
The England international has already had to deal with speculation linking up with Three Lions teammate Trent Alexander-Arnoldat Los Blancos, although it seems the pair could have been clubmates at Anfield had things worked out differently.
Jude Bellingham’s Liverpool move track
it was reported earlier this year that Bellingham was potentially headed for a move to Liverpool, although it never happened.
In an interview with TNT Sports ahead of the Reds’ Champions League clash with Real Madrid, the youngster appeared to hint that there was some truth to a potential switch from Dortmund to Liverpool.
“It would be nice to have a Steven Gerrard-style performance tomorrow.”

“It wasn’t as close as people told the media,” he said during the interview, part of which was published in X. “I think maybe they guided people a little bit in that direction.”
His choice of wording is significant given that Bellingham has not explicitly denied that there was any contact.
The fact is that it wasn’t a deal that Liverpool could complete and so they will line up in opposition at Anfield, although Alexander-Arnold is unlikely to have much, if any, part ha, since he’s just coming back from an injury. .

Bellingham also took the opportunity to praise a former Reds great, even name-checking him regarding his own performance Wednesday night.
“Steven Gerrard, a great hero of mine,” he added. “It would be nice to have a Steven Gerrard-style performance tomorrow.”
Certainly, if Liverpool give him space to play, Bellingham is likely to be pillaging around the Anfield pitch like he owns the place.
It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to stop Arne Slot’s masterpiece at the end of the 90 minutes.
