Mason Howell can’t really explain why he did it or what do you mean. But when Amateur champion He went 7 up to Jackson Herington in the championship match, he saw his friend and had to be the last to make the “6 7” viral celebration.
The “6 7” trend is a viral meme based on the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” from the scroll. The viral trend has become popular in Tiktok, and many celebrities, including star Wnba Paige Buckers, are entered into the meme.
Howell became the last to participate in a trend during his prevailing victory at the Olympic Club.
“High schools at school are really bothering me about it,” the Howll told the Golf Knost and Drew Stoltz co-leaders. “I couldn’t even explain it. Something something in a song. Probably probably one of the weakest things ever blown up. But it has so much popularity with children of my age and younger.
“I don’t know. Whenever those two numbers come together, people just put their hands up and down. One of my friends flying out to watch the championship match, it was immediately after I went up, he just went so (moves my hands up and down) and I did it again. I didn’t realize the camera was on me.”
Howell, who is dedicated to playing for Georgia in 2026, defeated Herington 7 and 6 to overcome Tiger Woods as the third-new player who won the American amateur in history.
