Popular fan Mark Goldbridge believes Manchester United should not have sold Scott McTominay at the start of the summer.
The 27-year-old midfielder joined Napoli on a four-year deal after agreeing a loan deal worth a reported £25 million.
The Red Devils replaced the Scotland international with Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte, but the Uruguayan has yet to make a significant impact.

Consequently, Goldbridge believes his side’s abysmal performance, particularly their 3-0 defeat against Spurs last weekend, has highlighted how badly McTominay is already being missed.
Responding to Kris Boyd, who said that Sky Sportsthat McTominay’s physical presence is what Erik Ten Hag lacks, Goldbridge said: “Yeah … exactly what we needed against Spurs.
“Someone to show up in the box when we’re dominated all over the pitch and we can’t get into their box.”

During his time at Old Trafford, particularly in the months leading up to his departure, McTominay, who came through the Red Devils’ youth academy, contributed to a number of important goals.
Often getting to the edge of the box and fooling opposing defenders, the 27-year-old’s ability to unsettle opposition defenses has already served him well in Italy.
Opening his Napoli account, McTominay scored the Italian’s fifth against Palermo last week, and the midfielder’s 77th-minute goal, which saw him find space in the 18-yard box, ensured that it reminded United fans of what they have lost.
