Seattle Mariners fans haven’t had much to cheer about lately.
The Mariners missed the mark for the second straight season after finishing with an 85-77 record.
They need to make some moves this offseason to get their team back to a competitive level.
According to B/R Walk-Off’s “X,” MLB Network’s John Morosi reports that Josh Naylor’s name has come up in trade talks between the Mariners and Cleveland Guardians.

Naylor entered the league in 2019 with the San Diego Padres before heading to the Guardians in 2020.
In 2024, Naylor played 152 games for the Guardians, hitting .243 with 31 home runs, 108 RBIs and a .776 OPS.
One of the Mariners’ main weaknesses is their offense, so trading Naylor would make some sense for the team.
The Mariners have a lot of solid starting pitchers in their lineup and would make good trade bait for the team to acquire better bats in their lineup.
In 2024, Naylor, just 27 years old, set career highs in home runs, RBIs and runs scored.
The Mariners have finished No. 2 in the American League West in Division III each of the last four years, but have not won a division title since 2001.
If the Mariners want a chance to win their first World Series title in franchise history, they will need to be aggressive this offseason.
