Major League Baseball’s offseason has seen many big-name players change teams either through trades or as free agents.
With top free agent Juan Soto building the drama, he eventually signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets.
One offseason trade that stands out was the Chicago White Sox sending ace starting pitcher Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox.
MLB analyst John Morosi recently revealed another possible trade for the ace starting pitcher.
“The Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners have talked in the past and in recent days about possibly trading (Luis) Castillo to Baltimore,” Morosi said, via MLB Network.

Morosi notes that the Orioles and Mariners have previously held talks about trading Castillo, and that Seattle would likely want a bat instead.
Another possibility is for the Mariners to trade Castillo to free up some money to acquire an offensive player like Pete Alonso or Alex Bregman.
Castillo debuted with the Cincinnati Reds in 2017 and was traded to the Mariners in 2022.
In 2024, he started 30 games and was 11-12 with a 3.64 ERA and 175 strikeouts in 175.1 innings.
The three-time All-Star could be seen as Corbin Burns’ replacement in Baltimore after he signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
