Manchester United keen on versatile Premier League striker with 20 goals and 13 assists


Manchester United are among the clubs eyeing highly-rated Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.

It has been previously reported that United director Dan Ashworth is one of the key figures driving the club’s transfer pursuit of Dibling after following him constantly when he was at Newcastle.

And according to the latest report from The Sunthe Premier League giants have sent scouts to keep an eye on the young attacker.

However, they are not the only team watching him, as Aston Villa are also said to be keeping an eye on the teenager and teams from outside England, including Germany and Italy.

While there is strong interest from United, it is claimed that any deal is likely to happen in the summer as the Saints will be unwilling to sell him mid-season as the club battle a possible descent

Tyler Dibling: Southampton’s rising star

The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the Saints’ standout performers this season, with manager Russel Martin trusting the youngster and Dibling returning the trust with consistent performances.

Dibling is a versatile attacker, capable of playing in a number of positions, including on either wing and as an attacking midfielder.

The Saints Academy product has made 91 appearances across all competitions and levels in his career to date, with 20 points and 13 assists.

He has a goal and 2 assists in 15 games in all competitions for Saints this season. He was also involved in Southampton’s goal against Liverpool in November. winning a controversial penalty for his team.

Tough run of games for Southampton

Southampton are currently 20th in the Premier League with just 5 points from 14 games so far this season. They have won just once (a 1-0 win at Everton) and drawn a further two, while losing the remaining 11.

The next series of games won’t do them any favors. After being thrashed 5-1 by Chelsea, they face Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, before hosting Tottenham next weekend followed by a FA Cup quarter-final clash the League against Liverpool.
