Man Utd midfielder joins Burnley in £9m deal

Manchester United has announced sale from Hannibal Mejbri academy graduate in Burnley.

The midfielder joined the Red Devils as a teenager from AS Monaco in 2019 and worked his way into the first-team set-up, making 13 appearances at senior level.

But the time of Hannibal a united has come to an end, with a permanent move to Burnley confirmed on Wednesday. The final fee could reach £9m if all add-ons are met, while there is a significant sell-on clause in the deal.

The Clarets are busy rebuilding after relegation from the Premier League last season and are among the favorites for promotion to the Championship under new manager Scott Parker.

said Hannibal Burnley Club channels: “I’m really excited. Really happy to be here and I can’t wait to see the fans. I’ve played against Burnley before at Turf Moor and the atmosphere was amazing.

“After talking with the coach, the project seemed good to me and I hope we can be successful.”

Hannibal entered Erik ten Hag’s United plans for the start of the 2023/24 season amid the first-team’s injury crisis. He played ten times that season before joining La Liga side Sevilla on loan for the second half of the campaign, but made just six appearances during his short stay in southern Spain.

United are expected to confirm the departure of fellow midfielder and academy graduate Scott McTominay in the coming days, with a move to Napoli close to finalisation. In terms of tickets, United are closing the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.
