Ruud van Nistelrooy will not be part of Ruben Amorim’s coaching staff, leaving Manchester United after four games in charge as interim manager.
The legendary Dutch striker then entered the Old Trafford dugout Erik ten Hag was fired after a poor run of results, stopping the rot with three wins and a draw. Ruben Amorim was named Ten Hag’s successor earlier this month and will begin work during the November international break.
However, Van Nistelrooy has not been included in the 39-year-old incoming head coach’s support staff, with United revealing he will now leave his role at the club.
A statement reads: “Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the last four games as caretaker manager. Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend.
“We are grateful for his contribution and the way he has approached his role throughout his time at the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford. Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also left and we wish them well for the future
“We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching line-up in due course.”
As Van Nistelrooy departs, Amorim landed at United’s Carrington training complex on Monday afternoon after presiding over his last Sporting CP game on Sunday, a 4-2 win over Braga.
The new manager will get to work during the international break, but his start to life in Manchester was marred by a delay in confirming your visaalthough United do not expect any further difficulties apart from the frustrating wait.
His first game comes at Ipswich Town in just a few weeks and the former Portugal international has already hinted that he is likely to use a three player defense when he takes over the staff.
