Marcus Rashford has firmly dismissed rumors suggesting he is looking for new representation to facilitate an exit from Manchester United, branding the claims “ridiculous”.
Those reports suggested the 27-year-old striker had met with a prominent sports agency in a bid to speed up a move away from Old Trafford.
Rashford’s comments come after a period of speculation over his United future. Two weeks ago, he expressed a desire for “a new challenge and the next steps” following his omission from the squad for the Manchester derby, in which United secured a 2-1 victory at Manchester City.
Despite those statements, Rashford has been keen to quash any notion that he is actively looking to leave by changing his representation.
His refusal shows his intention to face the rumors head-on, while for now he continues to focus on his Man United career.
Rashford wrote in his Instagram account:
“There’s been a lot of fake stories written over the last few weeks but guys this is getting ridiculous – I’ve never met an agency and you have no plans to…”
