Manchester United have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Manuel Ugarte.
The Uruguay international will become Erik Ten Hag’s fifth summer signing after striker Joshua Zirkzee and defensive trio Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
In terms of departures, the Red Devils failed to offload Casemiro to Saudi Arabia, but are close to seeing Scott McTominay complete a £25m move to Napoli.
As a result, 23-year-old Ugarte became the main target of Ten Hag, who identified the need to strengthen their midfield options last season.
