Malaysian GP – Interesting but boring.

After 20 weeks of non-stop racing, the MotoGP concludes in Sepang, Malaysia – a favorite of all the teams as it is only ten minutes from the international airport.

But what about the competition? It was both exciting yet boring. Find out how:

Bagnaia vs Martin duel

Interesting

The MotoGP Championship is a lot of fun. A tense battle between George Martin and Peco Bagnaia going to the wire to see who can fall the least.

With Malaysia in the final round, was it time for the gloves to come off and the punches to start flying?

boring

not really. It didn’t help that Bagnaia had yet to crash in a sprint race as he had no time to copy George Martin’s settings.

“But wait,” I heard Dorna’s executives yell in exasperation. “What about the opening lap of the main race? It was some of the most exciting racing in recent MotoGP history!”

Low bar. However, it is true that Martin and Bagnaia started competing against each other for the first time in known history. This sent TV commentators into meltdowns as bodily fluids oozed from every greasy part.

“Who calls MotoGP boring?” It was loud at us as the commentators completed the opening rounds, patting themselves on the back to finally explain their work. But, like Bradley Smith’s hairline, it all goes away too soon. After the first battle, George’s tire pressures went up and his risk factor went down.

Nothing has happened since then. at all. If you ignore the first three rounds, we’re left with a very dull, contemporary beige pile. Blindfolds have never felt so heavy – not even at a Coldplay concert.

Mark Marquez

Interesting

The half-hated Spanish Antichrist often takes an interest in competition. It’s always worth it to brutally charge through the pack after a horrendous qualifying test, or piss off the GP24 drivers on his parts-bin special marque Marquez. Better yet, the enemies yellow tanks beat joy when Marquez hits the gravel, or bitter depression when Marquez hits the front.

Qualifying on this second row, Mark told the world it wasn’t going to happen this weekend. It’s usually code for “this will be my weekend”. We are being told that rain is on the way…

boring

But nothing happened.

Mark finished the race in third place. No ram, no annoying methods and no controversy. Where’s the fun in that?

In the main race (which lasted about two laps), Marquez was once again thinking about his career in third place. Not fast enough to bother the leaders, but fast enough not to be caught by anyone. Then Marquez fell.

Weather

Interesting

Malaysia’s weather may be more random than Miguel Oliveira at the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle Festival. So, knowing this, what better way to drum up fake cheer than to tell the TV commentators how bad the weather is going to be at any moment…

“It’s getting dark out there…”

“Surely the rain will come, when it is delayed…”

“Jack Miller, Brad Binder and Marc Marquez win by the kilometer after it rains…”

“It makes him angry…”

boring

But nothing happened.

It didn’t rain. There were a few drops of water in the air in the sprint from tears from Rossi fans as Marquez pushed into third, but not even enough collective fresh water to scare the Frenchman.

The Revival of Yamaha.

Interesting

Behind the scenes, the disreputable Yamaha Corporation have been busy noodling, trying to make the venerable R1 a less embarrassing and outdated machine. And it’s working.

Yamaha’s main weakness, the ‘new rider friendly’ engine, is continually being updated, and it looks like Wok’s nuts are finally making an impressive comeback from their usual underwhelming performance.

Meanwhile, top French fab Fabio Quattarararo was riding nuts off his bike – running out of fuel or ‘out of his depth’ in Italian.

But in Sepang, everything came together brilliantly. The combination saw the Beret Yamaha rider finish 5th.Th And 6Th In sprints and major races. That’s like winning the Grand National on an octopus.

How did this happen?

boring

We don’t know. The TV producers more or less ignore this and instead focus on the lead battle.
