On Thursday, the LPGA officially announced a bold new policy to fight the slow game in The main tournament of women.
Key changes in the slow LPGA policy
Typically, LPGA players have 40 seconds to hit each blow. The biggest changes in slow game policy include penalties for overcoming time.
According to new instructions, if a player exceeds time by 1-5 seconds, It will receive a fine. If a player requires 6-15 seconds in time to play a shot, it will to be hit with a penalty with a stroke. Finally, if a player lasts 16 or more seconds than allowed, a With two strokes partially will be charged.

Previously, the first player to hit in a hole was given 10 seconds. But that too is changing. With the new rules, only players first to hit the Par-3 will receive an extra 10 seconds. In the par-4s and par-5s, the 40-second standard will be split for each stroke. The only exception is for PAR-4 accessible.
“Based on an approach supported by the player’s direct data and contribution, this policy now acts as a stronger preventative, ensuring that players receive serious warnings before the sentences become indispensable,” the president said LPGA player Vicki Goetze-Ackerman in a press release about policy changes. “Our overall goal is to improve the rhythm of the game in the tournaments, and these updates mark an important step towards creating a more efficient and pleasant competitive environment, taking advantage of both our members and our fans.”
World no. 1 supports new rules
While some of the benefits will probably be dissatisfied with the changes, World Nlles Korda is not one of them.
LPGA introduced new policy to players in last week’s founders, and Korda expressed her support for changes.
“I like it,” Korda golf.com told. “I think the way to change it is simply to strengthen the rules … If you get a penalty with a stroke, I bet you will never get one again. It all has to do with its strengthening.”
The new slow game rules will first enter the Ford LPGA championship on March 27th.
