Indian captain Rohit Sharma is currently going through a tough phase in his cricket career. However, he got some support from former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu during these tough times.
Sidhu reminded everyone of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win and claimed that the Men in Blue are still a force in limited-overs cricket. He also praised Suryakumar YadavTaking over from Rohit Sharma as India’s captain in T20Is.

Former Indian cricketer supports Rohit Sharma despite India’s loss in BGT 2024-25
Navjot Singh Sidhu took to social media and reminded India to win the T20 World Cup 2024. India recently lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, but Sidhu preferred to look at the positives.
He praised team captain Rohit for leading India to the 2024 T20 World Cup title. Sidhu also praised Suryakumar Yadav for India’s fantastic results under his captaincy in the T20I format.

Navjot Singh Sidhu had spoken in favor of Rohit Sharma earlier too. He backed Rohit’s comeback despite speculation of his retirement.
Rohit Sharma Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25
Rohit Sharma was in poor batting form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, where he scored just 31 runs at an average of 6.20 in the three Tests. He didn’t look confident in any of his shots and even dropped himself from the last match in Sydney.
Rohit played the second, third and fourth Tests series after missing the first match due to the birth of her second child. In his absence, jasprit bumrah led India in the first and fifth Tests of the series.
A mixed year for Rohit Sharma
Meanwhile, 2024 has been a mixed year for Rohit Sharma. He led India to the T20 World Cup 2024 with excellent batting performances and impressive captaincy. Rohit has scored 257 runs at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.70 in eight matches of the tournament. He also emerged as the second highest run-getter of the tournament.
After leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, his form dropped significantly and his form in the Test format went from bad to worse. He had a poor Test season at home as he struggled for runs against Bangladesh and New Zealand.
In 10 home Tests before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit scored 133 runs at an average of 13.30. He had only one and a half centuries to his name during this period and his best was 52.
