The long head of the Cobra DS-Adapt car is built for speed.
Kris McCormack/Golf
Cobra’s DS-Adapt LS long car is what happens when engineers stop asking, “Should we?” And just go to send completely.
During a last trip to the COBRA HQ to Carlsbad, I had the opportunity to try the new DS-Adapt LS Long Drive Clubhead … and let’s just say, I haven’t seen the ball speed like this since my twenties.
Now, I’m not a rogue. I know I’m not Kyle Berkshire. But for a short moment, specifically the moment I looked down and saw the ball speed crawling towards 170 mph, I felt like I could at least borrow his driver. This is what this club is: a specialized tool for players rapidly, rotating and swinging mechanics to treat it.
And don’t make a mistake: this is not your daily gamer. This head is a 6-degree rocket launcher, co-developed with a three-time world champion Kyle berkshire. Designed with pure speed in mind, everything from its shape at its center of gravity scream “go”.
Built for maximum speed
LS LS LS LSE head-fitted DS-Adapt is a more compact version of LS already with low DS-Adapt rotation. At 445cc, it holds the same volume, but the face is 2 mm deeper and the profile is 3 mm shorter before-back. These minor changes make a major change in performance; Specifically, more facial flexion and a CG before to liquid really the speed of your ball and cut the rotation.
First View: Adaptable Cobra DS Drivers, Fairway Woodws, Hybrids and Irons
I obviously noticed that speed in my testing, but here is the trading: I also saw Apex Heights about 50 meters and rotated by plunging into about 1400 rpms. Excellent for long car networks. Not so great for real -world golf. When you start hitting low bullets that barely stay in the air, the reality is inserted inside. I’m not kyle. I’m not 25 years old. And i don’t swing 150+ mph.
Confidence in chaos
Where this head shines, beyond pure performance, is faith. That largest face area gave me more a target to swing, and Cobra’s team told me it was a large part of what Berkshire wanted. When you are shaking everything, you don’t want to feel like you are creating a needle. You want to feel like you are hitting a table.
Although my swinging was a “couple” gear lower than Kyle’s, the head still felt very stable. You can tell Cobra not only hit a 6 -degree attic adhesive in a regular LS and call it one day. This thing was built.
Futuref33: Hosel Cobra most adjustable has ever made
Cobra is new HOSEL FUTHEFIT SYSTEM33 It’s a switch of absolute game. Debuting in the DS-Adapt family earlier this yearYou can adjust the attic and stretch independently, giving you 33 unique suitable combinations. When you are playing with extremes, like a head of 6 degrees and ridiculous speed, you need flexibility. FF33 gives a Hosel system that can continue.
As Cobra Futrefit33 technology can change your ball flight by 1 twist
It is a smart action for a head like this. You will want to call exactly in configuration, especially Since you are going to go by order with your shafts… What is exactly what this version encourages. The head is sold on its own ($ 599) and comes with a head, grief and two extra adapters Futuref33, so you can build it around your axis configuration. This was done for tinkerers, gear junkies and freaks Speed. (My people!)
A specialized weapon, not a daily driver (for me)
Look, this head is not for everyone. Hell, it’s not for me either … at least not Saturday morning in local muni. But as a gear, a speed follower and someone who appreciates what Cobra is doing for the high speed niche of our game, it was a blast to hit.

Yes, I will stay with something closer to 10.5 degrees for my gamer. But testing the long head of the adapted DS-Adapt car reminded me how entertaining this game can be when you push your boundaries-even if your starting monitor humbles you right away.
If you are a fast swinger, a long car competitor, or just a gear junkie with a itching for speed, this head deserves a test. Just make sure you are bringing the swing speed and confidence to treat it.
