Liverpool’s legend, John Aldridge, has said that a player of the Reds who likes himself needs to seal a distance from Anfield.
Aldridge sent this message to Porter of Liverpool Caoimhin Kelleher When discussing various LFC topics before the Carabao Cup final this weekend.
Speaking to Vegastars, Aldridge made it clear that he is a great admirer of Kelleher, describing it as “bright” but also very “unfortunate” to be behind Alisson in the penetration order in Liverpool.
Although the Republic of Ireland Shot-Stopper has shown real quality when he has played, he has not often happened enough for him.
It would surely make sense for Kelleher to seek a transfer to another big club, as he could surely play regularly elsewhere.
Aldridge called Tottenham as a potential destination At the age of 26, and even joked that it could be an option for Manchester United.

Discussing the situation of Kelleher, the ex-white said: “He is a top quality goalkeeper. At the two finals of the League Cup, he played, he was probably a man of the game. Whenever he has thrown the t-shirt for Liverpool, he has been immaculate. He has been bright.
“It’s so unfortunate, as you know, that Liverpool has the best goalkeeper in the world and this is very difficult to take. No matter how much I would like to stay in Liverpool for the rest of his career, I think I probably can see him having to play regular football because he is what he deserves. No matter how much he loves Liverpool, he should play the week a week.”
He added: “As a fan of Liverpool, I would love to see him going abroad. I think it would be great for him. I’m looking at the most important teams here and there are some teams like Tottenham that need a better goalkeeper … Manchester United needs a better goalkeeper! But it doesn’t go!
“I could play for any Premier League team, but you personally know that I would say that it is one of the most important teams in Europe it deserves. Italy, Spain, Germany or anything. I think it would be perfect for him, I really do.”
