Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has made a big claim about how Trent Alexander-Arnold and his team close to him are handling his move to Real Madrid.
It’s looking more and more likely than that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool for Real Madrid when his contract with the Reds expires at the end of the season.
Carragher seems to think it is now inevitable that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool, as he described it as ‘when’ he leaves, rather than if.
Liverpool are lining up an AWESOME €85m deal to replace the big name!
Watch below as the former LFC defender also suggested any talk of a Real Madrid bid this January will have been invited by his side to cover their backs when it comes to finishing with a free-kick in the ‘summer…
The most important for @LFC in 2025 is winning the #PremierLeague
No one’s contract or future should come into it!
I love Trent as a guy and a player, but his team would have told Real Madrid to make an offer and also known LFC would turn it down.
It’s to try and…— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) December 31, 2024
Liverpool fans will be disappointed to see the Alexander-Arnold story play out this way, as it looks like they are about to lose a world-class player, who came out of their academy, for absolutely nothing .
Will other Liverpool stars follow Trent Alexander-Arnold away from Anfield?
Things could get even worse for Liverpool as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also close to being out of contract.
Like, Alexander-Arnold, these star names could become free agents in just a few months, and would also surely have plenty of suitors if they were available.
Still, according to David Ornstein in the video below, there is maybe a little more hope that these two will stick around…
Keeping two out of three of those star names could be considered a success for Liverpool, but the fact that they would lose one of their homegrown talents when he is still in his prime makes it a particularly tough blow.
At just 26 years old, Alexander-Arnold surely still has many great years ahead of him at the highest level, and will surely be a great asset for Real Madrid.
Liverpool, for its part, will surely not find it easy to replace such a unique player profile.
