Liverpool are progressing with talks over a new contract for star player Luis Diaz, although little appears to be happening with the key trio of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
Diaz has shone for Liverpool, making a superb start to the season in particular as he continues to prove himself as a very important part of the Reds’ attack.
according to Waking up the KopLiverpool are in the process of sitting down to discuss new terms with Diaz to extend his contract at Anfield, news that will surely delight fans of the Merseyside giants during these somewhat uncertain times.
There was some speculation over Diaz’s future in the summer, with this following report from El Chiringuito claiming Manchester City had agreed a deal for the Colombia international…

It would certainly have been a blow to lose Diaz so soon after the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp, and with Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk all out of contract at the end of this season.
Diaz could surely play for other top-flight clubs, so LFC need to make sure he gives them his best years, just like Salah and Van Dijk, as well as the likes of Sadio Mane and Fabinho before them.

In the past, Liverpool have tended to miss out on star names like Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho, so they need to show they are now better at signing players of this caliber and keeping them on board to achieve success .
