Promoter Eddie Hearn insists that Saturday’s battle between Jaron Ennis and Uisma Lima on October 11 is not an easy one for the former Unified Welterweight Champion ‘boots’.
Lima no easy touch
Hearn says Lima (14-1, 10 COs) is a “Good fighter” and will give Ennis (34-0, 30 food) a proper test in his debut at 154 at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Fans hope that this is not just another gimme for Ennis, as they have seen him build a large part of his 34-match CV on victories over fewer fighters.
Hearn repeatedly said that “boots” would look better if he went up to 154, where he believed he would be stronger, because he would not drain himself like him when he fought at 147.
Crawford still in the photo
We will see if this is the case, because it may not be different. Seven pounds are not as much weight, and he looked painfully thin this week because he dropped weight. It is possible that he should move to the middleweight to be at full power.
It would be ideal because he and Hearn could start to push Terence Crawford to face him. This is where Terence expects to move down. Ennis and Hearn, who are at 160, can keep the heat on Crawford, forcing him and his team to make excuses for why they do not fight against him. It would be the perfect PR movement for ‘boots’ to show that Terence stooped him.
Ennis-Lima will be on the way this Saturday on Dazn. The event starts at 20:00 ET / 17:00 pt. In the co-function, heavyweight Alexis Barriere (12-0, 10 COs) stands in the Olympic Guido Vianello (13-3-1, 11 COs) in a 10-round battle.
“Sam Jones was with Jack Catterall in Philly.” Eddie, I saw him Spar. I’ve never seen a fighter like him. I’ve seen all the top fighters, ‘Eddie Hearn tells Ring magazinewho praised Jaron Ennis before his fight this Saturday night against Uussma Lima.
Hearn did not say who Ennis was struggling to look so impressive. If it is Catterall, it does not mean much because that man has no power and has recently been by Arnold Barboza jr. Beaten at 140.
Hearn eyes Vergil Ortiz next
“Lima is a good fighter. It’s not an easy battle to go at 154, but after this fight we want Vergil Ortiz,” says Hearn.
If Hearn says Lima is ‘good’ it sounds more like Double talk, meaning That he is a competent fighter but not someone who has the chance to win. Therefore, “Boots” is given no credit for using Lima as his opponent to make his debut at 154. Hearn should have dug deep to get the money to get one of these contenders for Ennis to fight:
- Erickson Lubi
- Israil Madrimov
- Jesus Ramos jr.
- Yoenis tellez
- Serhii Bohachuk
- Brandon Adams
