LIEVIN (FRA, February 19). Keely Hodgkinson emphasized Match Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais EDF Trophy (WIT Gold) With a new world record in the 800m short course, the final event of the evening, which also provided more world leaders and four meeting records. Hodgkinson clocked 1:54.87 to beat Jolanda Czeplak’s previous world record in 2002 by 0.95 seconds. Audrey Vero (1:58.38) is second, Tsige Duguma (1:58.83) is third.
Jessica Hull ran second fastest ever indoors in 5:26.68 WL/MR/AR to win 2000m from Salome Afonso (5:30.31 European best).

Frewaini Hailu led the world championships in the 3000m with a time of 8:24.59 to win. ahead of world under-20 champion Aleshin Baveke (8:26.29 PB), Nadia Battocletti (8:26.44 EL/NRi) and Martha Garcia (8:34.28 NRi) and Sarah Madeleine placed eighth (8:39.13 NRi/PB). Emmanuel Caralis Took a 600cm lead over the world leader from the first attempt and attempted 607 over Sondre Gutormsen and Zach Bradford (both 590).

Tina Shutey ahead Imogen Iris and: Kathy Moon (all: 470) in women’s competitions.
Yasser Trickey won the triple jump with a world mark of 17.35 ahead of Jordan Scott (17.11). Isaac Nader won the 1500m in a top-four NRi time of 3:32.44 EL over Federico Riva (3:33.02), Andrew Coskoran (3:33.09) and Stefan Nielsen (3:33.64).

Elliott Krestan topped the 800m with a MR time of 1:43.91 over Maczey Wiederka (1:44.64). In the hurdles, Devin Charlton won 7.79 over Pia Skrzyszowska (7.83) and Just Kwau-Matei in a photo finish over Enrique Llopis (=NR), both 7.45.

Leonardo Fabbri clocked 21.82 in his opener to beat Joe Kovacs (21.40) in the shot put. Other winners on the track: Georgia Hunter Bell 1500m (4:00.21), Emma Zapletalova 400m (51.40) and Adisu Yihune 3000m (7:33.58 PB).
