Leicester City star Jamie Vardy told Sheffield United

Jamie Vardy has encouraged him to consider a sentimental return to his roots, with former Premier League midfielder Lee Hendrie, describing a possible step to Sheffield on Wednesday as a “fabulous” step in his illustrious career.

Vardy will leave Leicester City this summer once his contract at King Power Stadium expired officially, ending a notable chapter in the history of the club.

The 38 -year -old led the amazing Leicester rise of the championship to champions of the Premier League, and even last season showed his lasting class shooting the Foxes on the first flight with 18 league goals.

Despite a quieter campaign to the Premier League this term, Vardy has made it clear that he has not yet planned to withdraw.

Speaking World of football leagueHendrie suggested that a move to Sheffield Wednesday, Vardy’s Boyood Club, could be the perfect way for the striker to continue his career.

“Obviously, it is out of contract and it is very well known that it is an Owls fan”, Hendrie told Football League World.

“I think most clubs will look at Jamie Vardy and think that they could certainly sign it.

“It has so much potential, even at the age of at this time and obviously a free transfer, so I think I would appeal to most clubs in the championship knowing that it is able to set goals.

“We know that he probably has struggled a little this season at the Premier League, so you feel that Sheffield’s tastes Wednesday, if the links are there and there is a possibility that all the boxes for Jamie Vardy will mark, I would think yes, this would be a fabulous movement.

“You could think that Sheffield Wednesday is up to height and it seems that there is maybe potential to sell the football club, which can inspire it to go.”
