Leeds United have identified Nordsjaelland’s Daniel Svensson as a potential new left-back signing amid Junior Firpo’s ongoing contract situation, according to reports.
Firpo has been the undisputed first choice at left-back for Leeds in recent years and has been in fine form this season, registering three assists in 13 Championship appearances.
Leeds are set to make an ambitious bid for Manchester City’s talent!
However, the ex-Barcelona player’s contract at Elland Road is set to expire at the end of this season, with no agreement between player and club yet to be found.
Whether in the Championship or back in the Premier League, the Whites would struggle to replace Firpo’s quality and will need to be very careful with their next move.
Firpo recently cast even more doubt on his future by openly admitting he “has options” away from Leeds United, who currently sit top of the Championship table after 16 games.

It is understood that Svensson’s form has he caught the attention of Liverpool and Arsenalwho reportedly has had scouts keeping a close eye on his last few games.

With Leeds joining the list of potential suitors, Svensson has been questioned about his future at the club and being linked with such big clubs.
“I haven’t heard anything about it and it’s not my focus right now,” the defenseman said recently (via ITV Leeds News).
My full focus now is what I do here in Nordsjaelland, so no, I don’t know anything about that.”
