The next few weeks could be some of the most important of Leeds United’s season.
Before the attack holiday period when Daniel Wake‘s Leeds play alongside Oxford United, Stoke City, Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Hull City in a full championship calendar, the club must put plans in place for when the January transfer window opens.
Any business done in the first month of 2025 is likely to spell the second half of the season for the Elland Road outfit, so the board need to get things right to give the Farke’s team to do better than last season.
It has been urged in Leeds so as not to make a fatal mistake in the January window, albeit one The Leeds man could be on the move as Farke looks to streamline its workforce.
Leeds could sign a playmaker in 2025
One player who has hinted his future lies away from current club Lausanne, and was reportedly interested in Leeds last summer, is Alvyn Sanches.
“My career plan is pretty simple,” the player said Sky Sports.
“As a young player, I have to have one: I want to finish the season with my club before I can move to an intermediate club, which will allow me to reach the highest level.”
Alvyn Sanches is interested in Leeds
Sanches has nine goals and assists in 18 games so far this season (transfer market), and at 21, he represents someone who can help Leeds now, but also in the future.
A valuation of just €4m means he should be well within the Championship side’s transfer budget, although, as the player himself notes, he wants to see out the season in Lausanne.
Should Leeds be promoted, they may decide not to sign a player who appears to only want to move to an ‘intermediate’ club, meaning the All Whites would be a stepping stone at this point.
