Leeds United are enjoying a reasonable season under Daniel Farke, and the All Whites are keen to land a player they have had their eye on for some time.

Burnley’s Josh Brownhill already has five goals and one assist in 15 Championship games in 2024/25 (transfer market), which is a good return from midfield.

His form has certainly helped the Clarets move up to fourth in the table, one place and two points behind Leeds, who are just two points off top spot.

“Leeds know the only way they can be in the conversation is if they get promoted, which could count against them as foreign clubs including Celtic and Rangers could agree a pre-contract before Leeds have the opportunity to make an official offer.”

The crux of the problem, as Bailey alludes to, is this all-important promotion, but the Elland Road outfit could be helped in this sense by the former coach of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp.

Farke will almost certainly need all his players singing from the same hymn sheet too, no squaring off with each other during games.

After coming so close to promotion at the first time of asking last season, the last thing the German will want is for his squad, stripped of many of its best talents due to the final defeat of Play-Off, came so close to promotion again.
