Jannik sinful has been canceled by Awards of World Sports Laureus.
Nomination of world no. 1 Sinner for the world athlete of the year has been removed, the Laureus Academy announced today.

The Laureus Academy said her decision to give up Sinner’s appointment came after Australian Open’s reign and Open’s champion accepted a three-month suspension to resolve Wada’s appeal on his doping issue.
Sinner twice failed drug tests last March, but successfully appealed his temporary suspension, citing unintentional pollution.
“Following discussions from the Laureus Academy, it has been decided that Jannik Sinner’s nomination for this year’s Laureus World Sportsman of the year will withdraw,” said Laureus Awards, Sean Fitzpatrick. “We have followed this case, the decisions of the relevant global organs and – while we note the circumstances of the settlement involved – we think that three -month bans make the appointment inappropriate.
“Jannik and his team have been informed.”

Sinner no. 1 world accepted a three-month suspension that will stop it from tennis from February 9-4-Maj to resolve the issue, World Anti-Doping Agency notified two weeks ago.

Under the terms of the agreement, the sinner will serve his suspension from 9 to 11:59 pm on May 4, 2025.
“According to Article 10.14.2 of the Code, Mr. Sinner may return to the official training activity from April 13,” Wada announced.
In a statement, the sinner said he accepts the suspension
“This case was hanged on me now for nearly a year and the process still had a long time to run with a decision probably only at the end of the year,” Sinner said in a statement. “I have always admitted that I am responsible for my team and understand the strict rules of Wada are an important protection for the sport I want.
“On that basis, I have accepted WADA’s offer to solve these procedures on the basis of a three-month sanction.”

Last March, Sinner twice tested positive for the prohibited steroid clostebol in the “low levels” the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced on August before the start of US Open.
The Australian double champion Open Sinner was not suspended and allowed to play because an independent court ruled that he was in “no guilt” for steroid pollution in his system.
