KL Rahul shocks the Delhi Capitals owner! Demands a place in a different team

In a surprising turn after his big IPL 2025 move, KL Rahul has made waves with Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise co-owner Parth Jindal, the new franchise boss, with a cheeky football query.

He was recently bought by Delhi Capitals for a whopping INR 14 crore in a mega auction. The right-handed batsman, who moved from Lucknow Super Giants to Delhi Capitals, was an instant front-runner for the captaincy role ahead of IPL 2025, but it was Rahul’s playful viral moment on social media that really grabbed everyone’s attention.

In fact, KL Rahul posted a clip on his Instagram story where he can be seen falling behind and he casually juggles a cricket ball with his feet before catching it with his hands and even shows off his football skills at one point. Australian commentators are in awe.

We’ll get it back before IPL 2025: Bengaluru FC

Rahul, who tagged along with Jindal in a recent clip from the Perth Test, quipped: “@parthjindal, do you have an opening at Bengaluru FC?” Well, Bengaluru FC’s official X goal responded to Rahul’s query: “Want to transfer credit @klrahul? 🔥 We sent you a fax, @delhicapitals 📠 will get it back before #IPL ! 😉”

After getting KL Rahul in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Parth Jindal said he has developed a good rapport with the Indian batsman and hinted that he will make him the DC captain before IPL 2025.

Parth Jindal was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying, “I have spoken to KL but haven’t met him yet. I know him personally very well; I will get (what he thinks) from him and it will come down to what the coaching staff and ultimately Kiran (Grandhi, co-owner) and I want to do. There is plenty of time for that.”

JSW Group’s investments in the world of sports

Besides owning the 2018-19 ISL title-winning Bengaluru FC franchise and Delhi Capitals, JSW Group also has stakes in Pretoria Capitals (South Africa’s SA20), Dubai Capitals (UAE’s ILT20), Soorma HC ( . Hockey India League) and Haryana Steelers (Pro Kabaddi League).

His 77, Yashaswin’s 161 and Virat Kohli’s 100* were instrumental in India taking a 1-0 lead in the ongoing five-match Test series against Australia. The second Test of the BGT 2024-25 will be a day-night affair at the Adelaide Oval starting December 6.
