Amir Khan says he leans to Terence Crawford to defeat the undisputed super -middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez on September 13. Khan mentions that he fought both fighters and felt that Canelo (63-2-2, 39 COs) “Easy to hit.”

Crawford stopped Khan with a low battle in their battle on April 20, 2019. Khan coach Vergil Hunter lets referee Tony Fields know that he could not continue because of the pain. Three years earlier, Canelo Khan beat unconscious in the sixth round on May 7, 2016.
“Canelo still has the power, but I feel like Crawford has his number. Crawford has dressed well, and he keeps the weight well. I think he was the other day at 186. He looked strong and lean. So, I don’t think he will have a problem, “Khan says.
It is impossible to say that Crawford has Canelo’s number because he has not yet fought the Mexican star. Crawford now looks bigger than Canelo, after gaining weight over the past month, and looks different from when he last fought against Israil Madrimov on May 3, 2024.
Why crawford canelo beat
“He will not be pressed Because Crawford is also a decent wrestler. He is very strong. I saw him take off heavyweights. So, I don’t think he will have a problem with Canelo’s weight and size, ‘Khan says.
Canelo does not use wrestling or rough home tactics to win its fights. He walks off his opponents, drops off big shots and counts what they throw back. Khan needs to know that Canelo knocked Khan unconscious in the sixth round in 2016. He should have remembered.
The 60-40 split explained
“That’s who has the best boxing skills, and of course we think Crawford has. But then Canelo looked good again in his last fight (against William Scull) also against the Cuban during the Riyadh season. I give it to Crawford 60-40,” Khan says.
Ringside Expert’s take
Former IBF Super Middleweight Champion Scull showed a lot of skills, power, speed and excellent combination against Canelo in their May 3. At 33, the 5’11 “scull skills and power showed that made it difficult for Alvarez. He won the battle, but it was not as easy as the broad scores made it appear.
Fighting Scull was a good step for Canelo because it helped to get him ready for the movement and technical ability Crawford owned.
