Keyshawn Davis posted a photo of him posing face to face with his best friend Shakur Stevenson on Instagram today asking fans if this is a fight they want to see. WBC lightweight champion Shakur already said this week that he will “never” fight Keyshawn for no amount of money.
The Photo Op
On the face of it, Keyshawn looked like a HUGE welterweight standing next to the normal-sized lightweight, Stevenson. I don’t know how Davis can make 135, as big as he is, but I understand why he chooses to fight in this weight class. It’s easy pickings given his massive welterweight size.
Keyshawn (12-0, 8 KOs) is just using fake hype to get people talking about him. He will fight WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk next month on February 14 at the Hula Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The event will be shown live on ESPN+. There is no buzz whatsoever about Davis’ fight against Berinchyk because fans are not interested in it. Keyshawn chose the weakest link to fight for a world title instead of showing courage and going after the other champions.
The fight that won’t happen
It’s a shame that Keyshawn and Shakur won’t fight because it means there will be an undisputed lightweight champion as the two share the same division and refuse to mix it up. This is assuming that Keyshawn can win the WBO title against Berinchyk, because if he loses that fight to the weakest link, he will never win a world title at 135. Keyshawn already looks enormous for the lightweight division, like a true welterweight.
I can understand the hustle on his part, coming down to fighting smaller guys at 135 rather than fighting where he should be at 147 against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. Keyshawn wouldn’t stand a chance against Boots, and probably neither would any of the other belt holders in the welterweight division. He is like a fish that can only exist in certain waters. You take the fish out of its habitat, and it cannot exist. This is Keyshawn to the T.
“That’s what you all want?” Keyshawn Davis said on Instagram about a fight between him and his friend, Shakur Stevenson.

The Berinchyk Challenge
“On Valentine’s Day I got no love. I go there and get the knockout. Berinchyk, you’re a hell of a fighter,” Keyshawn Davis said on his YouTube channel, talks about his fight next month on February 14 on ESPN+ against WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk.
“I beat him out. You know what I do. It’s going to be a big win. “The businessman.” Shout out to Berinchyk for giving me the opportunity, right? He gave me the opportunity, the face of big checks. We will all walk away happy. It goes down on February 14th at MSG at the Hula Theater,” Davis said.
