KEYELEGE FOR FAST IMPROVATION? A Feedback loop – this tool can help

One of the biggest advances for many players is realizing that real improvement begins before they get the club again. In almost every lesson I learn, I find myself explaining the importance of a good address position and by configuring. After all, a solid foundation at the address puts everything else in motion.

In fact, I often find that once they are in the right position, the ball flight improves almost immediately – without ever changing their swing.

But here is the real challenge: maintaining that configuration after the lesson is over. That is why I encourage all my students to build a reaction loop at every practical session.

What is a Feedback loop?

A feedback loop is a simple way, durable to control your work, catch small mistakes and strengthen the right habits. This helps you monitor your configuration and swing in real time, so you can adjust the issues before turning into bad habits. Over time, this leads to better performance and more sustainable improvement.

Why do the feedback loops matter

When I’m working with tournaments, most of our technical concentration is in what we can control – starting with the configuration. We use a clear, repetitive checklist to make sure everything is called before the club moves.

However, for everyday players, that kind of structured reaction is not always available. You do not always have a coach who looks at you in the range or the day before a big round.

That is why creating your feedback system so important, and lately, I found a tool that can help.

It’s called the golf stretch overview, and I have to admit, when I first found that my interest was withdrawn. I wondered, could a training aid like this actually give players the kind of real -time feedback they need, without a coach standing by them?

So, I decided to try it with one of my students – a development player that is about seven hours away from me in Hilton Head.

Since he lives so far, we usually rely on remote sessions to stay connected between visits within persons. And one of his recurring issues was “overcome” in his placement – the hips and knees very closed, very open shoulders. Without someone there to see it, the problem would be silent.

As soon as we put the mirror on the ground, the impact was immediate. He could see – and most importantly, feel – exactly where his body was in space. No verbal signs are needed. He gave him the ability to self-correction in real time, turning his placement into a loop of reactions in which he could rely.

The result? The best ball flight, and a composition that he could repeat with confidence.

Makes make this mirror so effective?

The convex shape of the mirror provides a wide view, on the full ground of your configuration. So you are not limited to checking only part of your behavior. With this training aid, you can see everything. Plus, it has network lines in the mirror that make it easy to evaluate the width of the stand, the position of the ball and the stretch of the body all immediately.

And because this gives you an immediate visual reaction, your eyes begin to know what it looks like “right”, and your body begins to memorize how it feels. This is where the true construction of the habit begins.

After our first session, my student went home and ordered the mirror for himself. At every online session we have had since then, it has been a key element in its configuration routine. And its extension? Consistent, clean and repetitive.

If you are looking to get ownership of your swing, build a reliable practical routine and make sustainable improvements – this is the type of Feedback loop that can actually move the needle.
