Ken Rosenthal provides a timeline of the Rocky Sasaki deal

Major League Baseball’s offseason has seen plenty of free agents sign with new teams, both hitters and pitchers.

This has arguably been one of the best starting pitcher classes in a long time, and the top names have already signed.

Some of these include Corbin Burns with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Blake Snell with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Max Fried with the New York Yankees, and Walker Buehler with the Boston Red Sox.

One top starting pitcher remains up for grabs, and according to one MBL insider, Rocky Sasaki could soon decide on a destination.

“We may see some results soon,” Ken Rosenthal said via Foul Territory.

The Toronto Blue Jays made a trade with the Cleveland Guardians that gave them $2 million in additional international money they could use for Sasaki.

While the Dodgers are likely the favorite to land Sasaki, the Blue Jays and San Diego Padres are the other teams.

Sasaki is a 23-year-old starting pitcher from Japan.

In 2024, Sasaki appeared in 18 games and went 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 111.0 innings.

Sasaki is rumored to have an electric arm and is a highly regarded free agent, even though he hasn’t thrown a pitch in the MLB.
