The Olympic champion returns to the Diamond League in the Swedish capital for the first time since 2022.
Kelly Hodgkinson’s summer racing schedule will include the BAUHAUS-galan meeting in Stockholm on June 7.
The Olympic 800m champion will compete in her specialist events ahead of goals that include the London Diamond League and the European Championships in Birmingham, although the Glasgow Commonwealth Games are not part of her plans.
“I’m really looking forward to going back to Stockholm,” he says. “It was disappointing to leave last year. I love the crowd at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium and I’m excited for a great race. I hope as many people as possible will be there.”
After winning the Olympic gold in Paris 2024, the British athlete had a period of injury. He was supposed to open his season at the BAUHAUS-galan last year, but had to postpone his return due to ongoing muscle current issues. She had to settle for bronze at the World Championships, finishing behind training partner Georgia Hunter Bell and winner Lilian Odira of Kenya.

This winter she ran a time of 1:54.87, nearly a second off Yolanda Czeplak’s 24-year-old world record, and is set to win gold at the World Indoor Championships in Poland in the coming days.
He has previously competed twice in the 800m in Stockholm in 2022 and 2021, finishing second and fourth. His first competition in Sweden, however, dates back to the 2019 European Under-20 Championships in Boras, where he won bronze in the 800m.
