Kelly Hodgkinson leads the GB team for the World Indoor Championships in Torun

The 29-member squad for the March 20-22 event in Poland includes Molly Cowdery, Jeremiah Azu, Dina Usher-Smith and Josh Kerr.

Great Britain will have high medal hopes at the World Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland in two weeks’ time. Keeley Hodgkinson, fresh from a world record 800m of 1:54.87, will lead GB’s hopes in her specialist event and we could even see her in the 4x400m team.

The team includes Molly Cowdery and Josh Kerr, world indoor champions in the pole vault and 3000m respectively in Glasgow two years ago.

Reigning world and European 60m indoor champion Jeremiah Azu is joined by relatively unknown Jody Smith in the men’s 60m.

Dina Asher-Smith returns to the World Indoors for the first time in a decade and is joined by Amy Hunt in the women’s 60m.

Elsewhere, Georgia Hunter Bell will aim for gold in the women’s 1500m, while Ben Pattison and Hannah Nuttall will aim to make an impact in the 800m and 3000m.

Abi Pollett (World Athletics)

Scott Lincoln will also hopefully be in the shot in the men’s push. Abi Powlett awaits selection for the pentathlon, which depends on world rankings, but has the 60m hurdles as a backup.

The selected athletes are subject to the final world rankings, which will be finalized by World Athletics by Wednesday 11 March.

A number of the team’s athletes will be lucky to hold those rankings, however, such as pole vaulter Owen Heard, combined event athlete Ellen Barber and high jumper Joel Clark-Khan, but UKA have named them anyway.
