George Kambosos Jr. will stand against an still particular opponent in Sydney, Australia, on March 22. This is the first battle with Eddie Hearn’s match room box for the former Unified Lightweight Champion Kambosos Jr. (21-3, 10 COs). Skye Nicolson will be on the map.
Hearn did not reveal his plans for Kambosos. He wanted to schedule a clash between Kambosos and former IBF Light Welterweight champion Liam Paro in Australia, but after the defeat of Paro against Richardson Hitchins in December last year, it spoiled his plans.
Kambosos that needs a win
Hearn also promotes hitchins, but a fight between him and Kambosos would not be a big one. It is not the best use of Kambosos that feeds him to Hitchins and watches him step. Hearn is likely to focus on a bigger battle for Kambosos Jr. Against someone like Theofimo Lopez, Devin Haney or Ryan Garcia.
Kambosos has probably lost every fight in the last four years since his troubled victory over Theofimo Lopez on November 27, 2021. He achieved a questionable victory against Maxi Hughes on July 22, 2023. Many boxes of fans saw it as a loss for Kambosos, as Hughes dominated the whole battle.
Kambosos’ last four battles
– Vasily Lomachenko – TKO 11 -Loss
– Maxi Hughes – MD 12 wins: *Doubtful
– Devin Haney – UD 12 -Loss
– Devin Haney – UD 12 -Loss
“I think hitchins are a good fighter. I think he needs me, but I want him because I see holes, ”says George Kambosos jr. Bumpy ground When asked why he wants to fight IBF Light Welterweight Champion Richardson Hitchins.
“I think at 140 with what I can bring to the table with his basic style. He is very basic. He is good with the basics. He has a good stitch, left hand, a good right hand, but at 140 I think I can overwhelm him, ”Kambosos continued on Hitchins.
“(Liam) Paro did a very good job in the first few rounds, but got away from it. I think paro was trapped with another possible mega fight with my name also attached. I see things in that battle. I love New York. It’s a good stomping ground for me, and I like to be, but of course not the favorite. I’m the underdog. “
The emperor’s fall
Kambosos does not stand a chance against Hitchins or any other top 10-level fighter at 140. He is just a miracle of one hit that was happy with a now desired victory in the 12 round about Theofimo Lopez. The little one ‘Emperor’ Kambosos’ career has sunk since since since
Hitchins do need Kambosos for a payday and to get more attention in his career. However, as far as the opposition is concerned, Kambosos is a big step backwards for Richardson. He is not in the same league as Hitchins’ recent fights against Liam Paro, Gustavo Lemos, Jose Zepeda or John Bauza.
“I think I’m still a noisy New Yorker. I feel like it’s all coming. I’m back with the match. I’m back with Eddie Hearn. I love the match room. I love Eddie Hearn’s way and vision. I feel comfortable. I have been with Lou. I love Lou … I feel like there’s a good direction and way to get champion again. I see it, ”says Kambosos.
After 8 years, I can finally display in my 140 debut in my hometown of Sydney, Big Card, March 22! Full details next week. Important struggle to set more championship gold 🏆🇦🇺 https://t.co/syje3vwa3
