Juventus “in talks” with Man Utd over a possible Jadon Sancho deal

Juventus have reportedly entered talks with Manchester United over a potential deal for out-of-favour winger Jadon Sancho ahead of the transfer the window closes.

Sancho was reinstated into United’s squad during pre-season after last year’s public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. He featured during the summer tour and was a substitute who later scored a penalty in the Community Shield shoot-out, but the 24-year-old was absent from the matchday squad when United faced Fulham in their first Premier League game last Friday.

With Ten Hag seemingly favoring Amad Diallo on the right, with Marcus Rashford on the left and Alejandro Garnacho still a major force, Sancho’s potential opportunities look limited.

Even after the hatchet between Ten Hag and Sancho was buried, the club’s position has maintained that the player is available for transfer. The Athletic writes that Juventus have “stepped up” contact now that the summer deadline is approaching and are seen as Sancho’s “most likely destination” if he leaves.

However, a “financial settlement that satisfies all parties” may not be easy.

United’s asking price for Sancho is believed to be £40m and has not been met all summer. Juventuswho have undergone a change of manager since Massimiliano Allegri was reluctant to sign the player in January, are set to make a loan offer that would allow them to contribute to his salary.

according to iUnited’s stance on Sancho’s sale has softened, having previously only been interested in a permanent transfer.

Juventus may also struggle to put together a financial package for Sancho if they land priority targets Nico Gonzalez of Fiorentina and Teun Koopmeiners of Atalanta. These two players could cost a total of €90m (£76m) if their asking prices are met.

Additional pressure is put on the Torino giants to push ahead with their efforts to offload Federico Chiesa. Interest from the Premier League has not progressed, with Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter most plausible destinations for the Euro 2020 winner.
