This last Saturday was one of those days that makes you question everything, especially why you have chosen to live in New Hampshire.
Yes, Live free or die It is a delightful state motto and enjoying any state sales or income tax does not absorb. But when spring teases you you like the seven veil dancing, waking up to 12 to three snow inches is just another blow to the golf balls by mother nature.
Fortunately, we had a good time.
In an endless chase to find fun in this golf life, your intact writer and two friends first tried Pelvis In the Oaks Golf links in the city of Somersworth. I’ve played OAKs many times since the movement here eight years ago. One of the best (and most underestimated) tracks in the southeast of New Hampshire, but I had not examined the Toptracer ward since it opened last summer.

Golf Toptracer: What Golfers wanted to be Topgolf
Ask every self-proclaimed “golf player” what they think of Topgolf and are likely to get a diaitribe longer than SA-you hear about his failures as a practical structure, a fun place and a dinner/drink. Hell, they will probably complain about parking.
Topgolf is what is: a dining and drinking institution where you can hit golf balls and play fun, though silly, games.
A range of toptracer golf is similar, but much different.
Toptracer is the arm of Topgolf Callaway (will stay with Callaway when both companies are shared later this year), combining the true Golf practice with Topgolf Games and, to my surprise, the true golf simulators. Want to play Pebble Beach in somersworth, nh? You can. Torrey Pines, Kiawah Island, Royal Troon? They are all there, as is the old course at St andrews.

You hit the balls in the range while the toptracer collects your starting conditions with the cameras posted on both ends of the hit area. You then check your monitor to see the ball flight and the blow result.
It’s not a real golf but with three inches of snow on the ground, it’s the next best thing.
Pavilion in Lisat
The Pavilion at OAKS opened last year, adjacent to the regular range of club practice. It contains nine closed and glowing bays, each with two good -size monitoring plus a large screen TV, which we allocated to the third round of masters.
There is also a full -service bar and a food trailer that contains some very tasty grubs. The balls are unlimited when reserving a breast in advance for $ 40 per hour. You can walk if the breasts are available and you pay out of the bucket.
Our group with three men reserved a single bay from 1 to 4 afternoon, which gave us a lot of time to play the old inverted course plus seven holes in Pebble Beach.
The beginning was pretty simple and the staff at the pavilion was more than useful. We started by placing the monitor in the direction mode and hitting balls in the snow. The monitor was a great help because a white ball flying through a cloudy day in white snow is a difficult kind to follow.
We ordered some lunch and drinks and placed the system to play the inverted old course.
Back? Really?
We told you about the old inverted course A couple of weeks ago But here is the version of Cliff Notes. Just last week, the real old course, the one in Scotland, was created to be played behind, in the way it was played before the old Tom Morris updated the course in 1870.
This is what James, Mark and I was treated in the snow in somersworth.
The touches the touches the Golf Range were intuitive and with a small staff guidance, we had the old inverted course loaded and ready to exchange. Toptracer is holding a competition to win the Times Times for next year’s old course returned a week, so we decided to play black without handicaps or milligans. We are hardcore, my friends.
If you played the old course, the first to hit the green road hole can be a little misleading. On the plus side, the unique corner of access does not make 17Th green every easier to hit.
The second hole is 17Th Hole back. You start at 18Th Tee and play with 16Th Green This means instead of hitting your goal shooting over the old course hotel, you hit your approach to the hotel. Mark put his approach to what I believe was room 431.
How much “correct” is a toptracer golf range?
I would say quite correctly. If you are looking to call in starting conditions in preparation for the other magnificent, you may want more. However, this tracks the ball flight enough for a snowy Saturday in April. Toptracer also takes rotation quite close to the reasonable stops of hop ‘n’ in green. It also has the old course terrain very well. If you hit one of the thousands of moguls of the road, the ball will start left, right or roll back according to the circumstances.
However, setting is a unique adventure. You don’t decide. Once in green, toptracer gives you a square kick of 68 yards in a target pin. You need to hit your goal in a pair of concentric circles around the pin. If you are in green in the regulation, hitting the largest circle in flight gives you an equal one, while hitting the smallest circle gives you a bird. Missing circles is all a scam. It took us at least five holes to realize that there is no roll with the placement. You need to hit the circle in flight.
About half the road in nine front, we learned that the target peg was also the red 68 yard pin in the running range. I am very certain that the doctor told us that before we went out, but I am also very sure that none of us were listening.
By the end of the round, we referred to the placement of the “68 yard” glory.
Pavilion “Vibe”
With a large range of grass movement, a piece, stroke and green bunker practice plus a large, green place, OAKS already had one of the best areas of practice in the state of Granite. Adding the Pavilion and Golf Toptracer range puts it in another league.
The pavilion is open year -round. Together with standard Bay for rent, it offers teaching packages and leagues of men and women. Also open at night with glowing targets. Food and drink are at the same time as everything you would get in an above average pub. We ordered the chicken tenders with a sweet chili sauce and some extraordinary bang shrimp.
For the first hour or more, the crowd was quite annoying. A larger group at the far end was having a time, with ninth nine-in-augusta-like roar. Their enthusiasm may have been associated with alcohol, but I can’t be sure.
As for our small group, we had a hell of a good time. For James, it was the first time he would get a club since September. For Mark, it was the first time since 2023. Expectations were appropriate and we all enjoyed four direct Mark’s direct shots at 18a on the corner of Links and Gibson Place.
It was, in a way, an impressive show of the unintentional brand.
Toptracer range: Final thoughts
Golf is a game, people and can be played in many, many forms. There is no need to be a March test of Bataan death with 18 holes of your inner interior reserve. At least, not all the time.
I think, toptracer is a step above Golf simulator. You should aim for real objectives (more or less) and see your full goal. Setting up, if nothing else, helps you work on your short shooting. Either way, it’s a video game that is fun and allows you to enjoy three hours with your best friend since Scout Cub and its neighbor.
Toptracer has some integrated failures to move you. The worst you can mark in a hole is five more. At that point, the system puts your ball in your pocket. Also, don’t worry about hitting the ball in Gorsse. The system always finds your ball and gives you a good lie. And, as with any imitators, sand shooting are regular shots. I remain disappointed, however, that none of us hit the street holes bunker.
I would say there is only one obstacle to the old inverted course. After the second hole (18Th Tee at 16Th green), the holes mix in one another to the last hole (2AND Tee at 18Th green). In general, it was a fun experience and will gladly do it again.
Where can I find a string of toptracer?
As mentioned, toptracer has 1,250 string equipped all over the world. You can find out if there is a close to you on the Toptracer website. In addition to simulators, toptracer offers a regular running function with the basic statistics of the starting monitor. It also offers a variety of games if you want to bring children while you treat Torrey pines.
The inverted old course is available by the end of April.
