None of the fighters can afford to suffer another loss if they want to stay in search of a world title. Hrgovic, 32, was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in Riyadh in June in a fight in which he was the favorite to win.
Hrgovic was brought in as a substitute after Dillian Whyte pulled out of the fight due to an injury with Joyce. It’s a difficult substitute for Joyce, and it doesn’t look good to him.
‘The Juggernaut’ Joyce (16-3, 13 cost) has a record of 1-3 in his last four fights and slipped out of the top 15 rankings after his latest defeat against Derek Chisora on July 27 last year. Joe’s performance in that fight was one of the worst of his career, as he slowly looked like 281 pounds.
Weight watch
It seems that Joyce was not finished for Saturday’s fight against Hrgovic (17-1, 14 COs), which could be bad news for him. In Joyce’s last three fights, he weighed in the 280s, and it is too much weight for him because he carries the kind of size too slowly. He has to be in the 250s, but it doesn’t seem to be going.
In 2013, Joyce Hrgovic defeated a five-round decision in the World Series of Boxing. However, he was much younger, slimmer and faster than now.

Whyte would still have been a very difficult struggle for this version of Joyce, but more waver than standing up against Hrgovic. It’s a bad game for Joyce unless he can find the fountain of youth.
“I’m familiar with his stature, his style and whom he practices with,” Joyce says about Hrgovic. “I have a good idea of what to do and how to beat him.
