Jorge Martin insists he could fight Marc Marquez for the title if he was on a Ducati bike.
Luigi Daleigna chose Marquez over Martin Out of a desire to see what Cervera Ant could achieve on factory-spec Ducati machinery.
Marquez left no room for misinterpretation with his massive dominance in the recently concluded season, but is adamant that Martin could have faced a serious challenge if he had stuck with the Italian constructor’s likes.
In an interview with Motorsport SpainIt has been questioned whether a year of injury nightmares and contract sagas would have been very different if Martin had continued to receive support from Borgo Pangale.
The Spaniard replied: “We will never know. But we are watching.” Alex Marquez I think I could have fought for him by comparing the season and this year’s season to 2024.
“Of course I would have given 100%, and I think 100% would have been enough to fight, not to win the mark, because that is impossible to know now, maybe we will know later.
“What Mark has done this year is extraordinary. But I consider myself strong. And I think if I had the same bike for a year and had more experience, I could definitely fight. But that’s something we never know.”
