Jordan Spieth’s game is trending in the right direction and this time feels different

Jordan Spieth He stayed in the microphone on Saturday night in Dublin, Ohio, happy with the golf show he had put in the first three days of the 2025 memorial tournament in Muirfield village. But the big champion three times offered a warning about his chances to shake Jack Nicklaus’s hand as a winner on Sunday.
“Bumeri for me is (Scottie Scheffler is at 8) and he simply – you know, you can’t rely on him by shooting even tomorrow, so it would take something special, but in general, just trying to shoot some under each day here.”
Yes, Scheffler, the protective sample of the memorial tournament, will sleep in the lead of the 54 holes after shooting a 4-nice 68 to take a lead with a blow to Ben Griffin in the last round. He has won the last eight tournaments in which he has held the full lead with 54 holes.
Spieth will begin on the fifth day of the shooting after Scheffler after a six-Zogjsh, six-Bogey round that saw it shooting and ending at 3rd for the tournament.
The spieth scores card may have the appearance of one day in six flags, but the 13-time PGA Tour’s winner did not feel that way. In fact, this is the best spieth it has felt so far in its return from the offseason wrist operation and a terrible 2024 season.
54 his holes at Muirfield Village have him feel safe for the trajectory of his game for two reasons: the feeling of his swing and the great-champion test that Jack’s place presents.
“It just felt like it was really good,” Spieth said after the round. “Yesterday was the day where I could have gone really low. Yes, I mean, I didn’t feel like a rotor. It is good to have the power of fire, the amount of birds today, on a day like today. Feeling game and better. I feel like hitting my positions – calling in half or 75 percent of shakes when I was looking for a month. From the outside instead of trying to swing, and it is making a difference.
“A course like this, no matter what happens tomorrow, I know if I’m able to play stable golf in a course like this then I’m going in the right direction, and I just have to stay the course. I’ll take some time.
Weekly statistics support Spieth’s claim that its swing is in a better position than it was during the early part of its return.
Through three rounds, Spieth is winning 3.912 shots in access, 1.812 outside tee and 2,380 about green. This ranks eight, 10th and eighth, respectively, this week. These numbers are much better than the spieth season numbers. Per year, Spieth is gaining only 0.332 strokes from tee, 0.157 in access and 0.212 around green. None of those who are ranked within 20 best in PGA Tour.
This week, the only negative aspect of Spieth’s game has been his deployment, which has lost .374 strokes in the greens.
Spieth will start on Sunday five shots back villaina friend and peer who he has admitted that he is followingas is everyone else.
“I mean, it wasn’t so long ago I was eventually better than him, and now I’m eventually Not now, “said Spieth in CJ Cup Byron Nelson after Scheffler’s record victory.” I hate to admit that for anyone, but I just looked at those first two rounds, and how – I have to do better. It is very inspiring. ”
Spieth knows he will have to do something special to catch Scheffler tomorrow at Muirfield Village. But even if he does not, this week in Dublin, Ohio, has been the biggest week in the great return of Spieth to date.
Asked about his level of faith, Spieth said he is currently sitting in seven out of 10, which has been the highest since his return from the operation.
But the arrow is pointing straight to Spieth, who is excited to return to work on Sunday and try to shoot the best player of the game.
“I know how to get it in a 10 and it’s just more work,” Spieth said. “More than what I’m doing.”
