Johnson Wagner scored three wins over the course of his PGA Tour’s career, but the 45-year-old pro-Turf-Channel-Analyst is now most known to His bad shots rather than its benefits.
In last year’s player championship, Wagner tried to repeat a hard live chip in the air. The resulting shink was deflicating – until Wagner realized that his humanity resonated with viewers. Now, the wagner reset of the player’s main shooting are a staple of coverage instead of Golf Channel, and in this week’s episode of Subpar, Wagner destroyed his best and worst performances of 2025 with COLT COLT KNOST AND DREW POLTZ. Wagner started with the worst.
“Paul McGinley had tried to talk to me to chop my hands in PGA in Quail Hollow, and it was Sunday that I decided to make one, where Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm were both over the 15th back of the green,” Wagner said. “I put one one like those who both did down a few legs, and I was like, oh, let’s have a little fun, let it chip it with crossed hands. And I watched this maybe 60 yards away in the green at 15 in Quail Hollow.

“It was humiliating,” Wagner continued. “I had my brother, my wife, son. All his friends were there looking, and it was – it’s brutal to do so on live television.”
Wagner said his best shot was in East Lake in August.
“The best blow was without a doubt on Saturday at the Tour Championship,” he said. “It was the first time they were using the back at 15. And we’re there for an hour and has a small crowd because it’s right from an entrance, but it starts to rain, so I really didn’t have time to release or lie down.
“I decided that it was the 206 front edge in the wind in the rain, and I will simply destroy a 4-heaven so hard that I can hit it,” Wagner continued. “And I hit this thing so high and so good that I ever hit a 4-door, and it came out about two meters less than green in the water. This was the best contact I made in every stroke on television.”
