Jermall Charlo told Caleb Plant today that he wants to fight next after passing his comeback opponent Thomas Lamanna on the 31st map at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
The former World Champion of two divisions Charlo (33-0, 22 CO’s) will sue Lamanna (39-5-1, 18 COs) as an institution to avert the two-year-old ring. If he is a conqueror, he may face a ‘lowhands’ plant (23-2, 14 coes). The WBA-Tus-Time Champion Plant of 168 pounds, 32, is fighting against Jose Armando Resendiz (15-2, 11 COs) in the 12-round main tracking on PBC Prime video.
Plant next?
Plant hopes to earn a rematch with the undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez after being knocked out by him in the 11th round in November 2021. Since the fight, plant has gone 2-1 and lost to David Banavidez and beat Trevor McCumby and Anthony Dirrell.
Fans on social media believe the only reason for 34-year-old Jermall Charlo coming back is that he smells money. He wants to get some of the Canelo dough to get a sweet payday of $ 10 million, like the one Edgar Berlanga got last September and the plant’s $ 10 million in 2021.
There is a minor possibility that plant or Jermall may lose their fights on May 31, because none of them are nowhere near Elite level. They gave what is apparently soft opponents, but they are now in the thirties and have miles on them.
The plant was dropped by the uninjured Trevor McCumby in its last struggle. Jermell struggled in his last two battles against Jose Banavidez Jr. And Juan Macias Montiel.
“It was a journey and a long time. I don’t like to keep saying that I’m back, but you get it. You get the concept, ‘says Jmal Charlo during today’s Los Angeles Press Conference to promote his fight against Thomas Lamanna on May 31. “I go to 168 to make a statement.
“Thank you, Thomas (Lamanna) for fighting. I’m focused, I’m locked up. I want to get rid of this battle and get it possible with Caleb plant if possible. I have some big plans about the works. ‘
Return to the ring
People wonder why Jermall did not stay at 160, where he has been for years, and the IBF and the WBO middleweight champion Janibek Alimnuly challenges his two belts. The answer to this is that Charlo would probably lose badly by a knockout against January.
He was too inactive to stand a chance against the champion. It is a man with which Jermall would have had major problems, even when he was younger and still active. Charlo goes up to 168 for one reason.
