I just like playing with good pairs,” Ostapenko said afterwards.
The star Latvian has enjoyed significant success in doubles this season. Which included reaching the Australian Open final with Su-Weih Hsieh before they lost to eventual champions Taylor Townsend AND Katarina Siniakova.

Ostapenko, since then, has played with some other players, but plans to join Hsih again for the Argila events in Madrid and Rome before competing in Roland Garros.
In bachelors Ostapenko can now look forward to facing protective champion Danielle Collins in the third round. Ostapenko believes she and Collins display similar styles of play and personalities.
“We have played several times,” Ostapenko told the defensive champion. “She’s a great player and also a great personality. It will be a difficult match. I think we play the same tennis style, so I think we’ll have some great rallies.”
Ostapenko also appreciates Collins and, as she describes, “her great personality”.
“It is as it is,” Ostapenko said. “It is not like trying to be someone people expect. She’s just herself and it’s the truth what she is, and I like it.”
