The International Tennis Integrity Agency announced today that Marrero and Jaziri are both suspended for violating tennis’ anti-corruption program rules.
Former world doubles No. 5 Marrero admitted paying and offering to pay for wild cards “for themselves and/or their doubles partner on four occasions throughout 2022 and 2023,” the ITIA reported.
Jaziri, a former singles No. 42 who owns career wins over Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov and Karen Khachanov and made history as the lowest-ranked Dubai semifinalist in 2019, has been suspended for nine months and fined $5,000 (of which $2,500 was suspended for breaching one of the TACP rules). with Marrero.
The 41-year-old Jaziri, the highest-ranked Tunisian in history and currently captain of Tunisia’s Davis Cup team, began serving his suspension on October 28. It will end on July 27, 2026.
The 45-year-old Marrero’s suspension began on October 21 and will end on May 20, 2028.
During their suspensions, Marrero and Jaziri are prohibited from “playing, training or participating in any tennis event authorized or sanctioned by ITIA members (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association. ITIA announced.
